Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. We have become fans of the smart Brava oven that is connected and can cook almost anything, efficiently, with light. And the latest update from the company adds accessibility for the visually impaired and more. Director of Product Management Zac Selmon and the team have worked with the Lighthouse organization in San Francisco to bring full control of the oven to the Brava mobile app..
“Now we can tie in with accessibility tools like voice over and talk back on iOS and Android, which are screen readers so that people that are blind or low vision can use the screen readers on their phone, make all their selections, get all their instructions and then set up their cook on a cold tray, put it into a cold oven and control it entirely that way.”
And the technology will enable more voice control in the not too distant future. More on the Brava oven in episodes to come.
