Being a geek dad…really isn’t so bad. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Cisco Linksys, the big maker of home networking equipment, is out with a survey that indicates that being a geek dad is sort of a badge of honor these days. And dads who know their way around those routers and such aren’t really so one dimensional after all according to the survey. Cisco’s Elizabeth Jones…
“So when you think of geek dads, or geeks in general, you probably think of these tech obsessed, socially awkward guys. And the survey we conducted found that really geek dads have evolved this definition of cool. So they’re no longer just these loners playing on Ataris as they were when they were young kids. Now they’ve really evolved and view technology as a way to stay cool and connected and pass on new traditions with their kids.”
You’ll find them in parks, at ball games and in the great outdoors. That, of course, is thanks to smartphones. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
