A wrist watch baby monitor?

Techstination feature for Wednesday, March 7, 2012

A wearable baby monitor.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Jakks Pacific, a company best known for a wide variety of toys for kids, has something now for parents, a line of infant monitors called Baby Watch.   And the two models include a small color LCD screen that can be worn on the wrist like a watch…to keep an eye on baby.   Jakks Pacific lead engineer Kosi Kosirog…

“Version 1, one camera, one wrist watch.  Version 2, the camera also includes WiFi, that means you can use it with iPhones, iPads, Android phones or via the Web  and have sub accounts for your grandparents and so on so they can also watch the live footage of the baby in the crib.”

Pricing starts at about 180 dollars for Version 1, which has about a five hundred foot range between the camera and the monitor watch.   The WiFi enabled edition costs about a hundred dollars more.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
