A fitness app that lets you share your run in real time. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Garmin, a company best known for its portable navigation devices, has become more and more of a player in the fitness tech category. It has a line of Forerunner watches designed for tracking and monitoring your progress. And Garmin’s Johann-Till Broer says the latest Fit app has added what the company calls LiveTrack….
“That allows you to share your run or when you’re on your bike allows you to share your workout with your friends in real time. So, basically, when you start your workout can link via email or you can send it out via Facebook and Twitter. And then your friends can click on this link and it will open up a map that shows your position, it shows your speed, it shows your distance.”
LiveTrack works with iOS and certain Android phones…and the app is priced at a reasonable 99 cents. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
