Another step up for Logitech’s do it yourself security cameras. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The system is called Logtech Alert, a do it yourself security camera system that uses the existing electrical wiring in a home that bridges to the Internet. It’s easy and now Logitech has enabled its cameras to see in the dark. The new cameras produce crisp black and white images in a completely dark room. Product Manager Nick Cuniffe…
“We are using an IR blaster on the camera which shoots out infrared rays that the camera can then sense and see. It’s not the green, because green a lot of times…detail and tones can be lost. But with the black and white you can still make out some sense of skin tones and hair colors and object’s sharpness still appear very good. And by going with the black and white we can still give you a viewable distance of fifty feet.”
And you can connect to the cameras with PCs and smartphones. You can find more info at LogitechAlert.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com
