Sony enters the wearable action camera competition. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Companies like GoPro and Contour have had a single focus in carving out the wearable sports camera niche…and have won lots of fans with some great products. Now, Sony has decided to compete with its 200 dollar Action Cam. The features? Product Manager Greg Herd…
“This is the smallest camera available with built-in WiFi. Also, ruggedized, waterproof, we have our Steady Shot image stabilization technology built in here. We’ve partnered with Carl Zeiss on the lens. So we have a really high quality lens on this camera. A very high quality Exmor R rear backlit sensor. And also, we can record up to 120 frames a second in HD, which means you can slow down your action four times.”
Sony also has a variety of mounting accessories at launch and on the road map and will be giving competitors a run for their money. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
