Lenovo bets on convertible devices for Windows 8.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Lenovo’s focus on innovation and solidly built computers has catapulted the company into the number one spot among PC makers according to a report this month from Gartner.  And in the company’s line-up for Windows 8 are two models of the IdeaPad Yoga,  that are, as the name implies, very flexible.  Product Group President Peter Hortensius…

“So here you have a product that looks like just a simple, standard notebook.  With that quick a motion, I’ve turned it into a tablet.   A 360 degree hinge is really the key trick to  this product.  So what it allows me to do is completely fold the product over, it automatically orients the screen properly to the way that I want to use it.  Turns off the keyboard.  And I’ve got myself a great tablet computer.”
