Putting 4 terabytes in your pocket. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. How much capacity can you cram into a portable hard drive? Seagate has upped the ante. VP Scott Horn….
“So what we’re seeing is we’re seeing people go mobile, obviously they want to use more storage with their phones, whether it’s in the cloud or personally. So we’re designing a range of products for people’s lifestyles. We’ve got our first ever and the industry’s first 4 terabyte portable drive. It’s the Seagate Backup Plus Fast. And it has 4 terabytes, it’s twice as fast as any other drive out there, it has USB 3.0, it’s a great product. People want to carry all their movies with them.”
Seagate has also announced the world’s thinnest 2 terabyte portable drive…the Backup Plus Slim. There were other highlights from the company at this month’s International Consumer Electronics Show…including the LaCie Sphere….a drive hidden in a silver orb…more style than you’ve ever seen in an external drive. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
