A new generation of processors from Intel

Techstination feature for Wednesday, October 1, 2014

A new generation of processors coming from Intel.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Intel’s new Core M processors are about half the size of the previous generation Core chips …but at the same time 50 percent faster.  They will enable thinner, lighter machines ….some about the width of a double A battery…with significantly longer battery life.   Intel ran into manufacturing issues which delayed the arrival of the new processors by about six months.  But now,  Intel PC Client Group VP Navin Shenoy says,  the chips are available for PC makers to buy…

“You’re going to see systems from about six manufacturers, including companies like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba.   You’ll see more and more of the Core M based systems hit the shelves in the holiday season, starting in October.”

With prices starting at about 600 dollars.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
