The best of Sony’s camera technology….may show up in your car. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Sony has been out innovating much of its competition when it comes to digital photography…and the sensors it has developed for cameras are being put to use even by competitors. And at the year’s International Consumer Electronics Show, CEO Kazuo Hirai said there is increasing interest for those image sensors, among car makers….
“And we anticipate that within a couple of years, our imaging and sensing expertise will help automotive manufacturers provide even more advanced drive assistance systems. Whether on a dark rose at night, in inclement weather, or even in visually challenging high contrast moments such as when you’re driving through dark tunnels or garages right into bright sunlight.”
The kinds of situations, says Hirai, when the image sensors can see better than the human eye. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
