Headphones that look as beautiful as they sound. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Using walnut with an oil rubbed finish combined with high quality speakers and super comfortable cushions make for headphones attractive to the eye as well as the ear. That’s what the folks at Grain Audio have created. Why utilize wood? President Mitch Wenger…
“The primary reason is the acoustic quality. When you are working with a natural material, you get a better quality sound. And the reason for that is you’re getting a resonance and a warmth that you wouldn’t get with a piece of plastic and part of that is because the wood is a natural material, it’s a little bit porous and actually absorbing some of the sound waves so they’re not bouncing all over the place. Wood is just a cool material. It looks great aesthetically. ”
The Grain Audio over the ear model sells for about two hundred dollars, the in ear version is about half that price. There’s more info at GrainAudio.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
