Smart homes are getting smarter. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. This month’s Consumer Electronics Show, the big annual industry gathering in Las Vegas, saw the introduction of more and more products designed to keep us connected to our homes in a variety of ways. There was a flashy new giant screen refrigerator from Samsung. It arrives this spring for gulp…about five thousand dollars. For more modest budgets, BeONhome has a connected light bulb system that has some unique features. CEO Alexei Erchak says the LED bulbs have plug in modules that learn your lighting routines so they can be mimicked when you’re away. And….
“There’s all kinds of features we’re going to be unlocking that we can do with this system and the first one that we’ve unlocked is a feature called welcome home which allows you to do exactly that.”
Using the app and eventually geo-fencing…turn your lights on when you arrive home. There’s plenty more to come. There’s more info at BeONhome.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
