Republic Wireless unveils new communication devices for kids and families

Techstination feature for Monday, January 8, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Republic Wireless has long been one of the most innovative and affordable wireless carriers.   And in the coming weeks it will be out with a new way for parents to communicate with their children.   The Relay looks like a mini speaker.   It has no screen and uses a button that works like a walkie talkie.   Product head Jon Schniepp…

“You press the button, say your message, and then the folks on the other end who also have Relay devices will hear your message.  Unlike traditional walkie talkies, anywhere you can get access to LTE or WiFi, this device will be connected.  So the range is nationwide.”

Relays will be sold in groups of two or three…for 149 or 199 dollars with service priced at about 7 dollars a month per device.  There’s also a new Republic smart speaker on the way called Anywhere.  Check out RepublicWireless.com.
