“You could say it is a banner year for both Tamagotchi and Lucas Film.   Bandai’s Tamagotchi brand is celebrating 25 years, Lucas Film is celebrating 50 this year.   And in this banner year for both brands we have this first time collaboration for a first Star Wars R2-D2 Tamagotchi.”
