Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        A ring that will allow a wearer to control lights and more by simply pointing and giving a little click.    The Lotus Ring from Lotus Labs was created by former Apple engineer Dhaval Patel using infrared technology….which you’ve been using to control your TV and quite a few other devices for many years.  There is no re-wiring needed.   His own reliance on crutches was the motivation…and he sees the Lotus Ring fulfilling a need for many older adults and others with mobility challenges.   Shipping is expected later this year..
