Princeton Astrophysicist Lia Medeiros on black holes and inspiration

Lia Medeiros is an astrophysicist at Princeton University, has been a NASA Einstein Fellow, was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study and was a part of a team that published the first image of the M87 black hole. But her passion extends beyond her work…to inspiring young people. I saw her mesmerize a group of young people at Princeton for the Summer of a Lifetime Program created by educator and former NBA player Brian Taylor. In her words…

“I really enjoy interacting with teenagers. I feel like everybody gives teenagers a really bad rap. I think they’re amazing and incredible and I’m always excited and awe inspired after having interacted with them. There’s just so much possibility in that age group.”
