Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     Alexa has become a household name over the last decade or so…ushering smart speakers and screens into our homes.   Now comes Amazon’s big upgrade… Alexa+.   It is the company’s next gen AI assistant that can converse on just about any topic…take on a pretty wide range of tasks…entertain and inform.   Amazon will charge about 20 dollars a month for Alexa+….but…it comes free to Amazon Prime subscribers.   And a subscription to Prime is actually cheaper than Alexa+ a la carte.   Hmmm.   It will be rolling out to a wide range of existing Alexa devices….even phones and computers.  But the earliest devices getting it will be  the Echo Show 8, 10, 15 and 21.    We’ll be checking it out and be back with more.
